Curtains are the DEVIL!
It's been one of those days. . .You know the kind where you start out with visions of sewing most of the day. And then. . .You decide that even though you are just about out of funds for food for the week, there are a few errands you just HAVE to run. . . which turn into a few more and at each and every place, you spend 30-40 dollars and realize by the time you get home that you spent your
Final Results of the Recent Beatles Album Poll
With almost twice as many votes as the 2nd place finisher, The Beatles' 1966 release Revolver was selected as the Beatle album most would choose if they were introducing the uninitiated to the sounds of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. If I had it, I would have introduced my niece to The Beatles by loaning her 1962-1966. My reasons are the same that Ivan stated in the comments section of the poll

A Bloggy Thank-You!!!
I have been wanting to write this post for several months now, and finally found the inspiration the other day to push me to do it.I'm sure you all are familiar with Disney from Ruffles n' Stuff. She has recently taken a break from blogging-- a long break. But she popped in the other day with a 'sponsored blog post', and the very first commentor left an extrememly rude comment. Click here to
Santa's Sleigh
I'm on a roll with my Christmas cards this year! Here's another one for you...I wanted to do a one layer card so I did a faux layer by tearing a strip that looked like snow, then added a circle punch for the moon and then brayered over the top of it with Pacific Point ink for the sky. This was a really easy card to do and I love the effect! Once I was happy with the sky I used one of my all time

Dublin is a Pit
Yeppers. Of all the cities that I've ever been to, Dublin is a pit. And yet I'm here several times a year. If it weren't for friends and family I wouldn't bother. Oh yeah, these people are truly loved! Good thing Dublin is easy to get around. From the Airport to the City Center takes about an hour. I usually take the 16a or 41 bus. It's only 2.20 euro. You can take the 747/748 but it's 6 euro.

Some Ruffling. . .
Part of the Halloween costumes included pettiskirts-- nylon chiffon pettiskirts. Five of them. Which means cutting, sewing and ruffling 300 yards of ruffles, and 150 yards of tiers. But it was really fun, albeit slightly tedious. And the end results. . . priceless! Fabulous tutorial located here on Make It and Love It. Chiffon purchased from afc-express.
Bristol Palin's Success On DWTS: The Politics of Dancing?
Over the past few weeks, a conspiracy theory has been swelling during season 11 of the ABC reality competition series Dancing with the Stars. Despite being considered by many (including the DWTS judges) as one of the worst dancers this season, Bristol Palin (daughter of Tea Party darling Sarah Palin) has managed to make it to the finals. The conspiracy whispers grew to a roar in some circles

Please Take A Moment To Vote In the Current Beatles Poll... Thank You
The idea for this poll was partly inspired by a recent event. A few weeks ago at my sister's birthday celebration, I was talking to her daughter (who recently turned 23). I asked her if she knew much about The Beatles. Since she didn't, I told her I was going to educate her on the sounds of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. I knew she'd be receptive to checking The Beatles out because she does

Merry & Bright
I saw this idea ages ago...and of course can't remember where! It's a fairly simple card to make, I first made a template using the cardboard that comes in our Designer Paper. I cut a rectangle using my Nestabilities and then taped it to my white layer with painters tape to keep it in place. Then I sponged Old Olive all over the cut out of the template. Edited to add: Thanks so much to Carol

The Thrifted Throne
Way back when I started this blog, I seriously lacked photography skills. Like here and here.As I have taken more pictures, I have slowly improved to the point where once in a while I get a picture I really like. But something that always stumps me is. . .winter! The cold and I do NOT get along well. And since most of the clothing items I make belong in a Vegas climate, my cute girlies aren't
