Happy Birthday to. . . ME!!!

Sooooo, I had a birthday this past week (and yes, I am still 29, in case you are wondering).  And I am contemplating what to do with my birthday money.Since fabric is out of the question (it is coming out of my ears!), the next thing on my wishlist is Japanese pattern books.  But I am having a hard time narrowing it down. . .Do I want the book with this adorable outfit?Or this one?Or this one?Or

So, here it is.  The final piece of the Musketeer costumes. . . and perhaps the trickiest.  You will have to forgive my pictures.  I just don't have it in me to make a new hat to take pictures for the tutorial, so I used our old hats.  Sorry!  Hope it is still clear enough.Materials Needed:1 yard Peltex extra-stiff double-sided fusible interfacing (HAS to be the stiffest you can find!)1.5 yards

A Christmas Wish

Hi again! Here's another Christmas Card for you....it's a complete case of this card that Christine did. When I saw this card, I absolutely fell in love with it and had the retired DSP to make one like hers. All I did was add a couple of embellishments.  I added some liquid embroidery for snow on the tree and the steps and then added some Iridescent Stickles to it.  I also added some red glitter

A New Necessity for the Sewing Room

Glue sticks are awesome!  Especially when you need to applique 42 hearts on Halloween costumes. Just slap some gluestick on the back of the heart and stick it on.  It's not perfect, but it is much cheaper and faster than Wonder Under.(And I don't have to use that accursed iron!)And I certainly need to save all the money I can, since those fancy trims are SO, SO VERYexpensive!!!!

Sewing With the Kiddos. . .

I am ashamed to admit. . . I really do not enjoy crafting with my cute little girlies.  It is too messy and too trying on my patience. . .   I am a selfish seamstress.  I sew for me. I wish I could say that was said with all the confidence in the world, but in actuality, it makes me feel extremely guilty.  With that in mind, imagine the emotions experienced when I viewed K1's latest

EVILE

EVILE are, by far, one of my favourite bands to shoot. Don't get me wrong, it's very hard to head bang and shoot at the same time. But it's worth it for an EVILE show. Last year they blistered the festival scene playing to tens of thousands of people. This fall they are on the road in the USA playing intimate venues. I gotta say, the gig in Brooklyn October 10, 2010 was my favourite. It was WAY

Pop Culture Trivia #108: The Spooky Edition 2: I Have Nothing In Regards To A Clever Subtitle

For this sequel to a quiz I posted last year, it's once again all about ghosts, witches, mass murderers, etc. as all the questions have ties to the horror/thriller/fantasy/supernatural genres. For those who have played Pop Culture Trivia in the past, there are two new rules:1. The first person to submit their answers to me will earn 3 bonus pts. 2. I will no longer be posting the answers (along

Stven Moffat (BLINK) is writing the episode which is set to film in November. It's being co-produced with BBC AMERICA, so we hope that doesn't mean a

EVILE in Trenton 08 October 2010

Trenton is not a place you want to get lost in. It's dark. It's hard to read the street signs. There are a LOT of cops around, but they seem to be rushing off somewhere in a red / blue blinding hurry. Luckily, the people in the 7-11 knew exactly where I was going. I thought I was late but as it happens, EVILE haven't been hitting the stage until about 10pm. Lucky for me! With the "cozyness" of
