Late Summer Rose
These are some of my favourite things! Roses!! I love them and they always remind me of my Mom. My Dad always used to pick the first flower out of the garden for my Mom, the first snowdrop, the first sweet pea, the first rosebud, all for her. Each variety of flower in the garden was special, and there were many! The roses were one of her favourites. Now I have my first rose bush in my own
Anette Dawn is the sexiest blonde in Hungary
When you think of the hottest babes that Hungary has to offer, Anette Dawn is first and foremost among them. Her sexy face and big tits are incredibly attractive, and she's got a big round ass that looks amazing when she's shaking and spanking it. Don't think that she's wrapped up in the pornstar lifestyle, though; quite the opposite, actually. Anette loves to spend time shopping, or playing with
Ellie Greenwich: 1940-2009
Yesterday morning while watching This Week with George Stephanopoulos, I learned that singer/songwriter Ellie Greenwich passed away on August 26th at the age of 68. She had been admitted to a New York hospital a few days earlier for treatment of pneumonia and suffered a fatal heart attack. If you don't recognize Ellie's name or face, I have no doubt that you know her music because she was one of

Alexis kept on riding the magic stick until it was time for the fiesta.Voodoo made sure he splashed it all over her face. Now Alexis can go home and brag about her own personal fiesta to her cousin.

Wingo Zingo at Summers End!
Hi everyone!I can't believe that it's the end of August already! For many of you, that means back to school shopping, getting organized for lunches and routines and signing the kids up for the fall events, like Hockey, Karate, Dancing, Swimming...the list goes on. Although I miss those activities from when my kids were small, I'm really glad I don't have to face the crowds in the malls! LOL! I
Summary of The Dark Knight
A few weeks ago, I conducted a poll asking readers to select a movie for me to watch that I hadn't yet seen. The Dark Knight won in a landslide and as a result, I watched it shortly thereafter. Here is my review:Heath Ledger was absolutely terrifying as The Joker. I was practically on the edge of my couch wondering what that psychotic S.O.B. would do next. I have no doubt that Ledger's

Aisleyne's New Boobs Revealed!
I like naughty picture messages. I got a really naughty one the other day off this guy. I thought it was his arm - but it wasn't. I'm not saying who it was, though.I'm a lady on the street and a whore in the bedroom - so I've been told.My friends think I am but I don't know. If a hot girl walks past, they'll catch me looking at her and I'm, like, "Shit!" I just like admiring women - they're more

I am by no means a Webster, but I thought I would share my definition of a few quilt/sewing words and phrases that took me a while to figure out when I was first starting. Evolution vs. Creationism - Part6
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 6min]Scott tells us: Darwinism is natural selection, not evolution. Again: There is a difference between the phenomenon and the mechanism that makes it happen. In short, if we take "repeated iterations of randomly generated solutions, combined with selection of the characteristics that meet the necessary criteria, [we'll get] a series of solutions that more

Evolution vs. Creationism - Part5
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 2.5min]Scott starts out her chapter on evolution proper with a red herring. And a very big and very red one at that. After stating that "most people" define evolution as "man evolved from monkeys" she goes on to point out that "surely no one believes that only males evolved" [23].Surely.Her definition of evolution is "a cumulative change through time" [23]. And

Evolution vs. Creationism - Part4
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 4min]We live in a universe made up of matter and energy, a material universe. [M]ost individuals believe that the universe includes something in addition to matter and energy, but science is limited to the latter two. [pg 3]I am so thankful that Scott started out her book with this acknowledgment. Science does not address everything, nor can it. But, for the
Final Results of the John Hughes Poll
With just over 1/3 of the vote, the "Citizen Kane of teen flicks" (The Breakfast Club) came in 1st in the recent poll where I asked you to choose your favorite John Hughes film.Although that came as no surprise to me, there were a couple of things that did catch me off guard. The first was the fact that the John Hughes-penned Some Kind of Wonderful (starring Eric Stolz, Lea Thompson, and Mary

The Retro Mix Playlist For 8/21/09
On this week's show, I was joined in the studio by my niece Pjazzy. She also had a hand in selecting some of the artists featured (such as Heart, the ones included in the "Common Thread"segment, Bonnie Raitt, and Teena Marie) and we discussed why she chose them. Although she had never been on the radio before, she did an excellent job. We had a ball co-hosting and the two hours flew by even

Fail Gov
...or: How the Government Got a Reality CheckSo buried deep within a blog post, the government has given us the closest thing to an apology for bad form as we're going to get.The upside? They are now a little clearer as to what they are looking for as far as contacting them about Health Reform is concerned, and you get another cool graphic from me:Fail Gov ~Luke HolzmannFilmmaker, Writer,

Crude the Movie
Three years in the making, this cinéma-vérité feature from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Brother’s Keeper, Paradise Lost, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) is the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial environmental lawsuits on the planet. The inside story of the infamous “Amazon Chernobyl” case, Crude is a real-life high stakes legal drama, set against a backdrop of the

Evolution vs. Creationism - Part3
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 2min]I've been using the books.google.com version of the book, but I'm quickly running out of preview pages.Inter-Library Loan had better come through for me quickly! This evening I got through the "Pillars of Creationism" after briefly glancing at the Preface. One thing that Scott says that may be noteworthy--though, I'd never thought of it myself, nor saw

Evolution vs. Creationism - Part2
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 3min]Before I get started with this book properly, let me set a little context for this discussion.First: There truly is nothing new under the sun. I see the current disagreement about evolutionism vs. creationism as potentially much the same as geocentrism vs. heliocentrism: The disagreement is fueled by politics, the religious institutions' fear, the lack of

Evolution vs. Creationism - Part1
[Long posts scare me. Read time: 3.5min]After a rather long discussion, I finally got fed up and proposed a challenge: Give me one book that provides the overwhelming evidence for evolution and I'll read it.And the first one recommended was this title. So I've started. And I'll be taking notes and sharing my thoughts and observations as we go along.Right now, I'm reading the Foreword by Niles

And one extra block that goes to the lady oranizing the event, who is going to make an extra quilt to donate to charity. It is kinda cool, actually. I sent quilt blocks to Florida, Utah, Cali, South Carolina, Arizona and

So here it is. Quilting According to Leisel (or QAL ;).The first edition will be about buying fabric. If you are like me, you don't need any help in THIS area and you can just skip ahead to the next
Please Take A Moment To Vote In the Current Michael Vick Poll... Thank You.
As you may know, former Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has been given a conditional reinstatement by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to play in the league again. For more on the story, please click here.If I was participating in the poll, I would say that Michael Vick does deserve a second chance. Although what he did was wrong, he's served his time and should be allowed the opportunity to play

Director John Hughes Dies At 59
I was shocked to learn this evening that director and Lansing, MI native John Hughes died in New York at the age of 59 of a heart attack. I don't think any other director is more closely tied to 80s cinema than John. If you were to make a Mount Rushmore of 80s teen movies and chose Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, you wouldn't hear a lot of
